It’s a fact that Serge Delaunay is captivated by science, the cosmos, spacecraft, automotive engineering, architecture, robots and other technically sophisticated machines. Serge Delaunay’s graphic work is immediately identifiable: peppered with snippets of phrases, slogans, dates, timetables, acronyms, brands and names – taken from magazines, TV and radio stations, his primary source of inspiration – Serge Delaunay’s drawing compositions are intensely animated with images celebrating technical and scientific progress. An odyssey of fantastic emanation, projecting great inner journeys, tinged with a poetics that is a touch anachronistic, jubilant and
communicative.
Serge Delaunay has worked daily in the Campagn’art workshop at the Centre Reine Fabiola in Neufvilles since the early 1980s. His work can be found in the collections of MADmusée in Liège, d’art)&(marges musée in Brussels, Musée de la Création Franche in Bègles and Collection de l’Art Brut in Lausanne.
