It’s a fact that Serge Delaunay is captivated by science, the cosmos, spacecraft, automotive engineering, architecture, robots and other technically sophisticated machines. Serge Delaunay’s graphic work is immediately identifiable: peppered with snippets of phrases, slogans, dates, timetables, acronyms, brands and names – taken from magazines, TV and radio stations, his primary source of inspiration – Serge Delaunay’s drawing compositions are intensely animated with images celebrating technical and scientific progress. An odyssey of fantastic emanation, projecting great inner journeys, tinged with a poetics that is a touch anachronistic, jubilant and communicative. Serge Delaunay has worked daily in the Campagn’art workshop at the Centre Reine Fabiola in Neufvilles since the early 1980s.
