For the past thirty years, André Stas has assiduously devoted himself to the practice of collage at , in parallel with his abundant written output. An eclectic and fastidious bibliophile, a member of the Collège de Pataphysique, combines images and repertoires. In this field, everything makes a fortune under scissors of this “prankster goblin, faithless goblin nor law” (Thomas Gutt), a tireless snoop of antiques, unearthing engravings and books photographs from women’s magazines or pornography, art masterpieces and images titles and press articles, which he shreds, decomplexes, kneads and shamelessly puts through the mill, before restoring to them an identity that shakes up reality as much as the sense of propriety.
