painter, musician, essayist, Olivier Pé takes part, in groups or on his own, in multiple artistic experiments mixing different disciplines (dance, music, writing, video and cinema). But painting remains his main activity, the meeting place of all other possibilities of expression. The piece chosen for the SPACE Collection is a painting whose subject intrigues and has the virtue of offering a wide range of horizons beyond the painting’s dazzling plastic qualities. The meticulous yet dreamlike world that depicts Olivier Pé is constantly renewed by experimentation. From this undergrowth, from these architectonic forms, from this environment intertwining physical and imaginary worlds, the approaches are multiplied. Subsequently, he continued his exploration of the plant world, as in the monumental series Jardin des Jours (2010- 2011), designed for the central nave of the Saint-Pholien church in Liège. In it, he evokes “Paradise and fertility, but also poetic experience, the body in love…”. The latter theme is already central to the drawing in the collection, which belongs to the series compiled in the book at corps perdu. (Julie Hanique)
