Born in 1974 in Liège, Belgium, Laurent Impeduglia is a graduate of the Académie Royale desBeaux-Arts, where he studied painting. Today, he teaches drawing.

Laurent Impeduglia’s work is in a perpetual state of flux, where derision is a constant escape from the gravity of a world sometimes devoid of meaning. An alchemist’s apprentice, an adept of the quest, the litany of his sources of inspiration that accompanies us on the path to the philosopher’s stone is vertiginous.

As a child of the 80s, he was fascinated by the cults on which society is based, mythologies and heroisations, the iconographies of Catholicism, the power of the counter-culture, industrial manufacturing and the fetishism of the commodity. His work transposes contemporary truths and invites us into his inner world.
