I've been working as a freelance photographer since 2012 and as a camera assistant on feature films since 2017. My photographic work is primarily oriented towards the human. I use the camera as a pretext to meet and chat with the strangers I come across. I feel a surprising need to take portraits. I systematically ask people if they agree to be photographed. My approach is rather frontal, without artifice. I don't try to emphasize or belittle. I'm always surprised at the extent to which some people need to confide in me. All it takes is time, kindness and empathy to get a discussion going. It's also my way of trying to understand my place in this world. When it comes to personal work, I systematically use silver film (in various formats - 35 mm\/medium format\/4x5 inches). Nowadays, with the plethora of digital images, working in analog means being methodical and photographing sparingly.
